Library Information

 

When is the library open? Normal operating hours are homeroom through period 9 (7:10a.m. to 2:25 p.m.), Monday through Friday. Notice of closings will be given when possible. 

When can I use the library? Students will be permitted to use the library during their library class or scheduled study hall periods. Students must have a purpose when they come to the library. The library is a center to check out materials, read, complete computer work, to do research, to complete homework in a quiet setting, and complete Accelerated Reader tests whenever accompanied by a teacher or with a pass from a teacher. 


 

Circulation Policies

 

Students may borrow 2 books at a time. Students are responsible for ALL books checked out in their name. 

How do students check out books?

When you are finished making your selection, bring the books to the Circulation Desk.

How long can students keep the books?

Students can check out books for up to 3 weeks. If you want to keep the books longer, make sure to renew them in the library by the due date.


 

General Rules

 

  • Students are expected to be respectful of themselves, others, and the library space [i.e. work quietly].

  • Handle all library materials with care.

  • Leave the library in the same condition as it was when you entered.

    • Push in your chair when you leave a table.

    • Put all materials away when you finish with them.

    • Remember to clean up after yourself!

  • Special permission may be needed for students to work together.

  • NO FOOD, DRINK, GUM, or CANDY in the library.



Using the library is a privilege which may be revoked anytime a student behaves irresponsibly or disrespectfully. If students are asked to leave the library being for being disruptive or disrespectful, the following consequences will apply:

  • First offense - library privileges revoked for 1 week.

  • Second offense - library privileges revoked for 2 weeks.

  • Third offense - library privileges revoked for the remainder of the semester.
